Job description

Req ID:524686

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your industrial engineering and performance optimization expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and results-driven teammates.

You'll play a key role in driving operational excellence and improving performance across Services NAM sites. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance), lead performance improvement initiatives, and optimize industrial methods to enhance efficiency and reliability.

You’ll specifically take care of on-site industrial assessments and operational performance reviews, but also support the deployment of digital tools and continuous improvement programs.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Leading performance improvement initiatives across O&M activities, focusing on efficiency, quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Optimizing industrial methods such as cycle time reduction, task sequencing, workload balancing, and process standardization.

  • Analyzing operational and maintenance data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.

  • Driving standardization of industrial processes, KPIs, and best practices across sites and regions.

  • Defining and implementing optimized work methods and maintenance strategies to improve asset availability and lifecycle performance.

  • Supporting the deployment of digital tools like OdyC to enhance service execution, planning, and monitoring.

  • Developing and improving planning and scheduling practices to optimize resource utilization.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align and execute improvement plans.

  • Contributing to the definition and tracking of performance dashboards, metrics, and reporting routines.

  • Providing technical expertise and coaching to field teams on industrial engineering and performance optimization.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial operations, maintenance, or performance improvement roles.

  • Strong knowledge of methods engineering, time studies, work measurement, and process optimization.

  • Solid understanding of maintenance strategies, reliability engineering, and industrial processes.

  • Experience with performance analysis, KPIs, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Experience with digital tools for operations and maintenance (, CMMS, performance dashboards, OdyC preferred).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Operational and industrial mindset with a focus on execution and efficiency.

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • A continuous improvement and change management mindset.

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.

  • Work with cutting-edge tools like OdyC and new standards for operational excellence.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and supportive colleagues.

  • Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility.

  • Utilise our flexible and dynamic working environment.

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning programs.

  • Progress towards leadership roles or specialized career paths in industrial and performance engineering.

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

Bilingualism

Proficiency in French and English is required. Knowledge of a third language is considered an asset when working with our international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
