Job description

Your opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As a P&C Business Partner, you define your role as a strategic partner for the business and a key driver of seamless employee experience among your client groups. The execution of this has you partnering closely with your leaders and functional people leaders to accomplish business objectives through the application of thoughtful, intentional, and innovative people practices.

You are equally comfortable advising leaders on complex people matters as you are rolling up your sleeves to deliver operational excellence. You play a hands‑on role in supporting employee lifecycle activities, facilitating job changes, coordinating people programs, and ensuring accurate and seamless administration across P&C and cross‑functional partner teams. You act as the primary connector between the business and supporting centres of expertise, driving process execution, mitigating risk, and ensuring a high‑quality employee experience.

This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet your future team:

The People & Culture Business Partner team operates in strategic partnership with the business, to drive the continuous evolution of people practices and foster a culture of belonging that generates high‑performance, strength‑based teams, and values‑based leadership. You will partner primarily with the Creative, Merchandising, Footwear, and Veilance functions to deliver guidance and solutions that help the team navigate growth and organizational goals.

If you were the P&C Business Partner now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Serving as the front‑line P&C point of contact for our Creative, Merchandising, Footwear, and Veilance functions
  • Leaning on our shared service functions, lead the end‑to‑end execution of employee lifecycle events including hires, promotions, transfers, organizational changes, leaves of absence, compensation changes, and exits, ensuring a seamless employee experience and compliance with regional requirements and company policies
  • Balancing strategic partnership with hands‑on delivery, translating business needs into actionable people solutions while directly overseeing the execution of employee changes to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant outcomes
  • Fostering, nurturing and evolving relationships that enable rapport, trust and influence throughout the company
  • Coaching leaders in employee relations which include career development, performance management, progressive discipline, and termination procedures when appropriate
  • Partnering with your leaders to translate and embed company‑wide P&C programs within the business, tailoring implementation strategies to address team‑specific needs, drive adoption, and maximize organizational impact
  • Participating in business‑wide projects that aim to solve organizational pain points
  • Ensuring relevant personal‑development tools and information for teams and employees are readily available, communicated, and understood
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by proactively identifying opportunities to enhance people processes, employee experiences, and business outcomes, and driving solutions through to implementation
  • Supporting other initiatives as assigned

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Supporting annual workforce planning, headcount forecasting, and budgeting activities to ensure organizational needs are aligned with business priorities and financial plans
  • Partnering with leaders to prepare for year‑end performance reviews, talent assessments, and calibration discussions to support fair, consistent, and meaningful talent decisions

Are you our next People & Culture Business Partner?

  • You have 5+ years of progressive HR experience, within a fast‑paced business environment
  • You are comfortable using Microsoft tools, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, to organize information, analyze data, and create clear, compelling communications
  • You are comfortable building credibility and rapport with leaders and employees at all levels, tailoring your support to their individual needs and maturity while balancing empathy, challenge, and accountability
  • You demonstrate strong prioritization and organizational skills, balancing strategic and operational responsibilities simultaneously
  • You are proactive, solutions‑oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity, with the self‑awareness to seek guidance and partnership when appropriate
  • You have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, easily able to analyze data, assess people, understand trends, and develop prioritized recommendations
  • You have excellent listening and communication skills, adapting content and messaging to resonate with different audiences, from employees to senior leaders
  • You are comfortable operating in the work, and simultaneously enjoy sharing relevant insights to drive strategic P&C programming
  • You have proven ability to quickly build an in‑depth understanding of the business, key processes, priorities and plans
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is CAD$94,000 - CAD$118,000.
