You will lead a team of logistics professionals that is situated in the broader Supply Chain function. The Supply Chain team is a cross-functional group whose focus is on optimizing responsiveness to market with quality product, while driving towards cash flow and inventory targets. In this role, you will partner closely with our Amer Sports D&T partners as well as our network of internal and external distribution centre (DC) partners as well as carriers

If you were the Manager, Delivery and Transportation - Temporary, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Leading, mentoring, and driving engagement within a team of logistics specialists, fostering a high-performance culture through coaching, development, and continuous improvement.

  • Developing strong operating knowledge of upstream and downstream business partner ways of working.

  • Developing and maintaining a transportation roadmap that supports our growth and service needs across NAM, EMEA, and APAC.

  • Leading and reviewing the regional and channel-level quarterly business forecasts at a granular level sufficient for distribution centers and carriers to plan resources and capacity.

  • Identifying risks and opportunities and leading action in D&T’s ability to deliver to plan and the business’ ability to provide appropriate forecasts to deliver to target.

  • Supporting regional teams in the development and execution of transportation programs to achieve regional objectives.

  • Leading the prioritization of inbound and outbound volumes with all distribution centers to support customer requirements by channel, especially during peak periods, pull-forward activities, and other seasonal volume variations.

  • Partnering with Allocations, Ecommerce, Retail Operations, and Global Transportation teams on seasonal peak period execution.

  • Collaborating across Supply Chain and Commercial teams to optimize shipping methods to maintain service levels while minimizing cost.

  • Developing and tracking KPIs and metrics to understand and share performance and enable your team and partners to optimize delivery, service levels, and cost across diverse regions, channels, and markets.

  • Leading regular operational reviews with transportation partners and ensuring all SLAs are being met.

  • Working with Financial Planning & Analysis on the impacts of various service-level scenarios to financial results and providing recommendations for adoption.

  • Ensuring up-to-date costs and cost forecasts for inbound and outbound freight are visible for financial planning and costing purposes.

  • Influencing process improvement and training activities at distribution centers to ensure all internal and external customer requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner, while engaging upstream and downstream partners on process-level improvements.

  • Supporting the identification, prioritization, and implementation of initiatives to advance emissions reduction efforts.

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Connecting our Regional strategies across NAM, APAC and EMEA in support of innovation and service excellence.

  • Leading the development of enhanced delivery models in support of our Retail stores and Ecommerce guests.

  • Influencing our global Inbound Ocean and Air freight carrier mix

  • Influencing our Regional TL, LTL and Courier provider mix

  • Supporting the evolution of our Distribution Center and Cross Dock network to drive service and cost improvements and emissions reduction.

  • You have excellent communication and business presentation skills, both verbally and written

  • You have strong financial acumen, including understanding of profit & loss with ability to interpret data and understand the financial impact

  • You have experience with SAP

  • You have advanced Excel skills

  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

  • You balance autonomy and collaboration with your teammates

  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement

  • You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right

  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is CAD$108,000 - CAD$135,000
