Job description

Canada Branch Banking Controller for a client in the Banking and Financial Services industry.

This is a Permanent role.
Compensation: $100000 - $115000 per year
Location: Montreal QC

Job Description (English)
Opportunity
  • Join a dynamic financial team supporting a Canadian Banking Branch within a global financial group
  • Work closely with international Finance teams to support financial excellence and performance
  • Contribute to monthly financial statements and the monitoring and optimization of financial reports indicators and procedures
Responsibilities
  • Complete accounting entries required for month-end and year-end close
  • Monitor and analyze management results against budget
  • Prepare and produce Canadian financial reports with rigorous quality control of the general ledger
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation and detailed process descriptions under your responsibility
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in Montreal New York and Paris
  • Interact regularly with external auditors and tax authorities
Required Qualifications
  • CPA designation with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of banking-specific accounting principles including OSFI regulatory filings
  • Bilingual French and English required for daily interactions with international offices
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian IFRS GAAP for public companies
  • Ability to work autonomously manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Garantir lexcellence de la comptabilité financière et de la comptabilité de gestion de la succursale bancaire canadienne
  • Assurer la conformité aux politiques du groupe et à la réglementation fiscale canadienne
  • Préparer les rapports financiers et réglementaires requis
Responsabilités
  • Effectuer les écritures comptables nécessaires aux clôtures mensuelles et annuelles
  • Suivre et analyser les résultats de gestion par rapport au budget
  • Préparer et produire les rapports financiers canadiens avec un contrôle rigoureux de la qualité du grand livre
  • Développer et maintenir une documentation précise et des descriptions détaillées des processus sous votre responsabilité
  • Collaborer avec les équipes internes à Montréal New York et Paris
  • Interagir régulièrement avec les auditeurs externes et les autorités fiscales
Profil recherché
  • Titre de CPA avec un minimum de 5 ans dexpérience pertinente
  • Excellente compréhension des principes comptables propres au secteur bancaire incluant les exigences réglementaires du BSIF
  • Maîtrise approfondie des normes IFRS canadiennes pour les sociétés ouvertes
  • Solides compétences informatiques et souci du détail
  • Autonomie flexibilité et capacité à gérer plusieurs priorités
  • Excellentes compétences organisationnelles et de communication
  • Connaissance de la fiscalité bancaire (un atout)
  • Connaissance de la réglementation bancaire canadienne (un atout)
  • Bilinguisme français-anglais requis pour les interactions quotidiennes avec les bureaux internationaux
