This role will have a strong focus on execution, team oversight, process discipline, and timely resolution of plant support needs. In this role, the successful candidate will lead day-to-day indirect materials operations, lead third-party and union team members, manage workflow within established processes, and partner across plant functions to maintain material availability.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily indirect materials execution for crib and point-of-use stocked materials in support of plant operations.

  • Create and approve purchase requests and help ensure purchase order requirements are received and delivered on time.

  • Manage incoming supply against stock requirements and communicate material risks, shortages, and expedite needs with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Facilities teams.

  • Support indirect material part setup and maintenance activities, including lead times, safety stock, standard packaging, and new part extensions for the plant.

  • Work with plant teams, WRA, Share-the-Spare, and suppliers to reduce unnecessary new buys and improve use of excess, repairable, or available parts.

  • Lead monthly continuous improvement work across the parts portfolio, including inventory optimization, over-max reduction, obsolete material management, and root cause analysis.

  • Supervise represented union hourly employees and third-party resources as applicable, including work coordination, training, coaching, timekeeping support, and day-to-day issue resolution.

  • Support a safe, organized, and compliant work environment through audits, housekeeping, safety evaluations, and adherence to internal controls and standard processes.

  • Drive cost, quality, and responsiveness performance by supporting budget targets, cycle count accuracy, stock-out analysis, FIFO compliance, and plant issue response.

  • Use data, systems, and AI-enabled tools to improve visibility, decision-making, and operational efficiency.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities for crib attendants and indirect receiving personnel.

  • Support launch and end-of-life material planning with Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering teams.

  • Review invoice and pricing discrepancies in partnership with Accounting.

  • Provide off-shift and weekend support for critical plant issues and ensure coverage planning when away from the business.

  • Promote strong labor relations and work within the local labor agreement.

  • Off shift support for critical plant issues (24x7)

  • Weekend support for critical plant issues (24x7)

  • Analysis checklist completed for all stock-outs and problem solving for major stock-out

Required Qualifications

  • Successfully obtained a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Experience supporting indirect materials operations in a plant or manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with indirect materials policies, BDPs, operational excellence expectations, and results-driven execution.

  • Experience leading contractors, represented hourly employees, or third-party resources.

  • Ability to work within established procedures while making sound day-to-day operational decisions and following issues through resolution.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across plant functions and leadership levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP and/or Maximo.

  • Experience with Kronos.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel capabilities such as v-lookups and pivot tables.

  • Experience with Power BI, Glean, Copilot, and Slack.

  • Strong organizational skills, project management capability, and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
