Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Financial Services, the Clerk C - Landfill Billing is responsible for billing and accounts receivable related to landfill, small commercial customers and residential bulky waste pickup for the Solid Waste Services Division. This position also acts as on-site supervisor for the clerical staff and is responsible for monitoring and training staff, assigning workloads, planning and coordinating vacation schedules and coverage and assisting in the hiring process for clerical staff. Duties also include processing payments and journal entries related to Solid Waste billings, producing various month-end reports and performing various administrative duties.
As the Clerk C - Landfill Billing, you will:
Manage billing and accounts receivable for the Solid Waste Services Division.
Process payments, issue receipts, prepare journal entries for landfill, small commercial and bulky waste collections and prepare billings for small commercial landfill accounts.
Prepares and analyzes various month-end reports and reconciliations.
Process and approve credit applications for landfill customer accounts.
Follow collection procedures for customers with overdue accounts and insufficient fund payments.
Communicates with the collection agency for overdue accounts.
Prepare and monitor the shifts schedule for Finance clerical staff at the landfill.
Supervise clerical staff and manage performance in the day-to-day tasks performed.
Coordinate vacation schedule and coverage.
Plan and provide on the job training and make recommendations for training opportunities for staff.
Assist in the recruitment and selection process for clerical staff.
Perform other duties consistent with the classification, as assigned.
