Job Description

Role: Saw Operator

Objectives: Fabrication of material for roofing applications. Produces cut material by operating a sliding panel saw; interprets shop drawings; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment. The Saw Operator reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepares orders by cutting various types of insulation based on cut lists and shop drawings using a sliding panel saw; ensures accuracy and quality of orders
• Pulling materials packing wrapping and labelling pallets; placing materials in staging area
• Verifies quality by measuring pieces; adheres to quality assurance procedures and processes
• Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following maintenance guidelines
• Assist in effective completion of inventory audits
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping warehouse neat; complying with established policies and procedures
• Documents actions by completing forms reports logs and records
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications

• Teamwork coordination organization planning time management reporting skills documentation skills equipment maintenance dependability attention to detail process improvement
• Construction / carpentry / trade / table saw operation experience considered an asset
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret information effectively
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Excels at operating in a fast pace community environment
• High comfort level working in a diverse environment
• Valid Forklift License (training can be provided)
• Able to work in shift/overtime as required
• Working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
• Compliance with OH&S act / provincial workplace safety regulations
• Ability to lift push and carry 80100 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions including bending twisting and reaching
• Ability to work in a high-paced production environment and meet production targets
• Exposure to dust and noise (with use of required PPE)

Salary range: $24.00 - $28.00/hour
