Job description

You are a seasoned Superintendent with 5 years of field operations experience managing multi-disciplinary commercial institutional or residential construction this role you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day management of field activities ensuring projects are delivered safely on schedule within budget and to the highest standards of quality. You will develop and implement project plans and schedules uphold company safety and quality programs and coordinate the work of field staff contractors trades and project stakeholders.

Working independently with minimal supervision you will lead site operations proactively resolve challenges and serve as a mentor and resource for less-experienced team members. Your leadership technical expertise and commitment to excellence will support the successful execution of project objectives and contribute to the organizations continued growth and success across commercial institutional and light industrial sectors.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee staff to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects to completion
  • Promotes the overall site safety program including subcontractor compliance with Ledcor standards the Health Safety and Environmental Plan (HSE Plan) and all applicable OH&S acts regulations and codes
  • Ensures that field staff are equipped with the resources required to efficiently complete projects according to approved plans specifications and applicable building codes
  • Actively participates in the pre-bid and preconstruction process regarding site layout logistics scheduling and workforce planning
  • Review and maintain schedule ensure milestones are met identify scheduling issues and delays and lead solution development
  • Maintains strong relationships with subcontractors suppliers and clients/consultants
  • Supports and promotes Ledcors core values of safety quality integrity sustainability and success
  • Managing hourly employees as required including forepersons carpenters and labour staff

Qualifications

  • 5 years of construction experience in a Superintendent position
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug and alcohol test
  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers license
  • Experience with residential or commercial projects
  • Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry-related trade certification/education
  • Expertise in safety within the organization and knowledge of OH&S and Environmental standards and regulations
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to work with senior management
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices documents drawings schedules technologies equipment industry practices and contract negotiations

Working Conditions

  • Site-based position in Kelowna BC
  • Travel requirements may arise in support of project and business operations

Compensation

$100000.00 - $137500.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience knowledge skills education and location.
