Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Flight Control Laws Engineer to support the research, development, verification, and validation of advanced Fly-by-Wire flight control systems for next-generation commercial aircraft programs. This role will focus on the development and assessment of flight control laws (CLaws), which serve as the critical interface between pilot inputs and aircraft responses.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to the design, testing, and certification readiness of flight control systems using model-based development methodologies, MATLAB/Simulink tools, and aerospace certification standards including DO-178 and ARP4754.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and document flight control laws for Fly-by-Wire aircraft applications.
- Translate functional and system-level requirements into detailed control laws requirements and models.
- Author and maintain requirements documentation for experimental and production flight control systems.
- Perform verification and validation (V&V) activities on flight control laws and associated software.
- Support the development and testing of primary flight control computer functionality.
- Conduct model-based analysis and testing using MATLAB and Simulink.
- Update and modify control laws models and validation tools as required.
- Develop and maintain MATLAB scripts to support automation, analysis, and testing activities.
- Contribute to system requirements verification activities in accordance with ARP4754 and applicable aerospace development standards.
- Collaborate with systems, software, and flight test engineering teams to ensure successful integration of flight control functionality.
- Support ongoing research and development initiatives related to advanced aircraft flight control technologies.
- Participate in technical reviews, design assessments, and certification-related activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in aerospace engineering, flight controls, control systems, or Fly-by-Wire development.
- Experience with Flight Control Laws (CLaws) development, analysis, testing, or validation.
- Strong proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink.
