Position Overview
Within the Mental Health and Addictions Services of Prescott-Russell, the Concurrent Disorders Counsellor provides integrated care to individuals experiencing both mental health and substance use/gambling challenges.
The counsellor conducts comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, develops and implements integrated care plans, provides case management and care coordination, delivers counselling and therapeutic interventions, and monitors client progress.
They work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, families, caregivers, and community partners to ensure a coordinated and client-centered approach.
TEMPORARY FULL-TIME position until September 2027 approximately
The counsellor may be asked to work at different locations depending on organizational needs.
Salary according to BSW, in accordance with the OPSEU collective bargaining agreement

As a pre-condition of employment:
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related mental health and addictions field.
- Member of a regulatory body that regulates psychotherapy in Ontario.
- Certification in addiction counselling is an asset.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in mental health and addictions, preferably with concurrent disorders.
- Trained in harm reduction and motivational interviewing approaches.
- Strong interpersonal and engagement skills with complex clients.
- Experience in integrated counselling interventions.
- Good knowledge of mental illness and concurrent disorders.
- Knowledge of treatment modalities (CBT, DBT, MI, etc.).
- Professional attitude aligned with organizational values.
- Bilingualism required (French/English).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Good attendance profile.
- Satisfactory Human Resources file review.
