Job description

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

At Electronic Arts, we inspire the world to play. We create incredible experiences for players everywhere, and their experiences shape everything we do. Battlefield is one of EA’s most iconic franchises—defined by all-out warfare, large-scale multiplayer, and unforgettable moments driven by player choice, skill, and teamwork.

With over two decades of uncompromising FPS gameplay, 100 million players, more than 5 billion hours played, Battlefield is entering its next chapter. United under Battlefield Studios, four world-class teams (Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect) are building the future of the franchise: a connected Battlefield universe grounded in the series’ unique DNA.

To support this vision, we are looking for a Senior Manager of Player Experience Research to lead player research for Battlefield. Reporting to the Director of Operations and PX Research in the Player and Quality Insights organization, you will own the player insights strategy to deliver high-impact insights that directly shape design, gameplay, live service, and the franchise’s long-term direction.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing, globally distributed team of player research professionals, setting a strong standard for quality, impact, and craft excellence.
  • Define and own the player insights strategy for Battlefield, aligning research priorities with franchise, product, and business goals.
  • Serve as a senior voice of the player, influencing creative direction, gameplay systems, progression, monetization, and live service decisions.
  • Translate complex player behaviours, needs, and feedback into clear, actionable recommendations that drive player‑first outcomes.
  • Partner closely with development leadership, product management, design, analytics, and publishing teams to embed player insights throughout the full development and live lifecycle.
  • Advocate for scalable, repeatable research practices that elevate how Battlefield teams understand and engage with players over time.

What You Bring

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Market Research, Data Science, HCI) or equivalent industry experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in the gaming industry, with a strong track record leading player/user research teams.
  • 5+ years of direct people leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect player insights to business and franchise strategy, driving measurable impact.
  • Strong executive communication skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders across disciplines and global teams.
  • Extensive experience conducting and applying game user research across multiple platforms and geographies.
  • A passion for Battlefield, FPS games, or large‑scale multiplayer experiences, with a strong understanding of live service games and player communities.

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g., Vancouver vs. Victoria): $141,400‑$204,400 CAD

For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top‑up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full‑time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.

About Electronic Arts
