Payroll/Bookkeeper (Temporary – 3 Months)

$30.00 per hour
Our well established client in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Payroll/Bookkeeper for a 3 month temporary assignment. This role will become a permanent part time role but initially coverage is needed for the payroll duties.
This is a stable and growing organization in the legal industry.
We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable payroll professional with experience managing a small payroll and grow into handling bookkeeping duties.
Responsibilities:
· Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for client’s employees (16 employees)
· Maintain payroll records including hours, deductions, benefits, adjustments, and statutory withholdings
· Issue ROEs accurately and on time
· Prepare and file T4s and T4As
· Complete year-end payroll filings with CRA and ensure federal/provincial compliance
· Process payroll in Quickbooks Desktop
· Meet all payroll remittance and reporting deadlines
· Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions using Cosmolex law software
Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
Maintain vendor and customer records.
Qualifications:
· PCP Certification is an asset (not a requirement)
· Proven payroll experience in a similar role (minimum 2 years)
· Strong experience with QuickBooks Desktop and an asset to be knowledgeable with Cosmolex software
· Experience in the legal profession or similar industry
· Solid knowledge of payroll compliance and CRA requirements
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
· Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
