ABOUT THE ROLE
The Asphalt Plant Operator will be responsible for overseeing the production of asphalt, ensuring proper mixing, quality control, equipment monitoring, safety standards, and process adjustments to meet production goals and specifications.

This is a full time permanent role.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Offload hot asphalt oil
  • Operate and run mixing operations on the asphalt plant and ensure material quality and compliance with specifications
  • Ensure consistent production to meet daily orders
  • Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment and plants including keeping accurate and thorough records of plant performance and production
  • Manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, including scaling, ticketing, and assisting in asphalt orders
  • Complete daily checklist, journal and reports
  • Collaborate with plant operators, truckers, quality control and dispatch
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers by addressing issues, questions or concerns in a timely manner
  • Contain all spills promptly and notify appropriate authorities immediately, adhering to established written procedures
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: At least 2 years of experience in operating and running an asphalt plant, ideally Astec
Required Technical Skills: MS Office Applications
Language Skills: English is required

  • Previous heavy machinery / equipment experience
  • Collaborative team player with effective communication skills in English
  • Able to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities
  • Possesses a good safety mindset. Must be capable of heavy lifting, bending and twisting as the role requires considerable physical activity
  • Must be available for weekend work, night shifts, and overtime, with the ability to work in various climate conditions
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
