This role manages cross‑border compliance and tracks performance against high‑level safety objectives and programs.

Key Responsibilities

Provides subject‑matter expertise to leadership regarding emerging safety risks, regulatory trends, and operational impacts across all U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions.

Analyzes regional safety data to identify high‑risk trends and prioritize corrective actions based on frequency and severity.

Promotes a proactive safety culture by leading by example, focusing on incident prevention, risk reduction, and maintaining a healthy work environment for all employees.

Reviews driver performance data and utilizes "coach‑the‑coach" methodologies to minimize behavioural risks and company liability.

Supports Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSC) and Health & Safety Representatives to drive employee participation and hazard identification.

Leads investigations into vehicle and workplace incidents to determine root causes and implement effective corrective actions.

Serves as Co‑Chair for the National Health and Safety Policy Committee as mandated by the Canada Labour Code.

Partners with Risk teams and external stakeholders (e.g., third‑party administrators and Canadian Workers' Compensation Boards) to manage claims, reporting, and return‑to‑work programs.

Collaborates with Regional Training to identify, evaluate, and deliver safety training needs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and Canadian standards.

Partners with Operations, Risk, Training, and HR to implement consistent safety programs across North America while adapting to local legal requirements.

Oversees monthly safety meetings with Regional and Branch Managers, providing expert feedback, data presentations, and performance tracking.

Monitors developments in federal, state, provincial, and municipal safety laws to proactively assess impacts on company operations.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and safety reporting.

Ability to travel up to 50% across U.S. states and Canadian provinces, including remote or rural locations.

Preferred Qualifications
