Job description
Focus Systems is seeking Java Developers to support enterprise software and telecommunications initiatives. If you’re an experienced Java developer with strong Agile delivery experience and a background in enterprise systems—this is a great opportunity to work on impactful telecom and integrated software projects. Key Details • Location: Onsite in Regina, SK • Industry: Telecommunications • Contract: Initial 1-year term (with possible extension) • Environment: Agile / Agile-Hybrid delivery Role Overview You will support medium-to-large enterprise software initiatives involving product enhancements, implementations, and support activities for both internal products and external client solutions. This role works within highly integrated enterprise environments utilizing APIs and modern Java technologies. Key Responsibilities • Analyze business requirements and contribute to application design • Develop, unit test, debug, and support enterprise Java applications • Create high-level and detailed technical designs • Participate in Sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and peer reviews • Troubleshoot and remediate technical issues • Develop documentation, demos, and technical recommendations • Collaborate with Agile teams, technical resources, and business stakeholders Mandatory Qualifications ✔ Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology ✔ 5+ years of Java development experience on medium-to-large projects ✔ 5+ years experience with JUnit ✔ 3+ years experience with Spring Boot and/or Angular ✔ 3+ years experience with Maven, Git, and Database UI tools ✔ 3+ years experience with JSF 2.1 ✔ 3+ years experience with JPA 2.0 using Hibernate ✔ Strong experience with Agile / Agile-Hybrid methodologies ✔ Experience in IT and/or telecommunications environments preferred Preferred Experience & Assets • Telecommunications experience (wireline, wireless, converged networks) • Experience supporting highly integrated enterprise systems and APIs • Experience working directly with external business users • Exposure to AI tools and technologies Key Skills • Application design & enterprise software development • Requirements analysis & technical solutioning • Unit testing, debugging, and technical problem resolution • Agile collaboration and delivery participation • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills Application Deadline Please complete your initial application by May 16, 2026, at 11:00 PM CST.
