This is a performance-driven role (100% commission) with unlimited earning potential.

Driven by a period of rapid national expansion, CMLS Financial is excited to launch a newly created team within our alternative lending channel. This high-autonomy role is designed for a professional who can navigate complex credit files while proactively scaling a regional portfolio through consistent market activity. You will act as a strategic consultant, providing the technical clarity and operational excellence our partners rely on to fund alternative deals.


Where You’ll Make An Impact:

  • Lead Regional Growth: Proactively scale the AVEO portfolio across Ontario by identifying new broker partnerships and maintaining a consistent, professional presence in the market.
  • Execute Lending Authority: Review and verify complex credit documentation to adjudicate mortgage applications within your delegated authority, ensuring all files align with lending guidelines.
  • Act as a Strategic Credit Resource: Partner with brokers to structure files, providing expert guidance on policy interpretation to help them position alternative deals for successful funding.
  • Optimize Submission Quality: Improve regional "look-to-book" ratios by providing technical training to your broker network, focusing on enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of their applications.
  • Manage the Commitment Lifecycle: Oversee the issuance of mortgage commitments and review of supporting documentation, ensuring all files meet rigorous AML/ATF compliance and internal risk standards.
  • Advocate for the Brand: Represent the AVEO channel at industry events and regional meetings, staying informed on market trends and competitor activity to effectively position our lending solutions.


What We Value:

  • Three (3) years of experience in residential mortgage underwriting (ideally in the alternative lending space).
  • Experience in business development on the lender or broker side will be considered a strong asset.
  • A drive for building networks through consistent first-contact calls and high-frequency outreach to ensure the CMLS Aveo channel is the first choice for regional alternative deals.
  • Proven ability to leverage existing relationships in Ontario corridors to drive high-volume originations and position CMLS as a preferred lender.
  • High-level interpersonal skills focused on being a trusted advisor, with the ability to manage broker expectations and deliver difficult credit decisions with professional tact.
  • Knowledge of real estate market trends and the competitive landscape in Ontario, including a practical understanding of peer-lender offerings.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle.
  • Possession of a Mortgage Broker or Mortgage Agent license will be considered an asset.
  • Fluency in multiple languages will be considered an asset.
