Our team in Eastern Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Piping Engineer to join our Minerals & Metals Business line in the Burlington or Toronto office.

About The Role

Deliver piping engineering design in line with project requirements and Ausenco’s engineering standards.

Perform and verify hydraulic calculations for pumped and gravity flow systems.

Communicate with engineers from other disciplines to ensure design will be delivered according to project budget and schedules.

Assist with project planning and recommend improvements to the design process.

Assist designers in the production of project design drawings by providing technical assistance and reviewing drawings in a timely manner.

Guide designers in best practice for piping layout, and participation in multidisciplinary layout reviews.

Develop piping and valve material standards and engineering specifications.

Input, review and incorporate vendor data to produce IFC level P&ID’s.

Produce purchasing documents including datasheets, scopes of work, MTOs and lists for procurement of bulk pipe, fitting and valves.

Facilitate the purchase of bulk pipe, fitting and valves by creating data sheets, scopes or work, technical specifications, MTOs and lists, evaluating and conforming multiple tenderers, and assisting procurement with the purchase of the materials.

About You

Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 - 8 years’ of experience.

P.Eng or working towards your professional engineer registration.

Piping design experience in the mining industry is required, with preferred experience in copper concentrators, gold and/or lithium process plant design.

Knowledge of slurry handling and rubber lined pipe design.

Ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner with some guidance.

Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

Strong analytical skills.

Working knowledge of 3D piping design tools is required and experience with SmartPlant is considered an advantage.

Salary range:

$95,000 – 110,000 annually.

Expected Salary:

Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
