Job descriptionOur client, a global non-profit organization headquartered in Ottawa, is seeking a Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis to join their finance team on a 1-year term with a strong possibility of becoming permanent. The Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, plays a key role in enabling data-informed decision-making by connecting financial planning, reporting, and business intelligence tools. This role ensures financial and operational information is accurate, timely, secure, and aligned with organizational objectives and compliance requirements. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, the position translates complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights to support senior leadership and governance reporting. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, you will:
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across multi-year financial plans
Provide financial insights, scenario analysis, and decision-support reporting for leadership and governance
Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and standardized financial reports
Translate data into clear, actionable insights for operational and strategic use
Oversee financial systems and reporting platforms, supporting ongoing improvements and optimization
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, controls, and governance across financial information
Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial understanding, reporting needs, and system use
Contribute to training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications The main qualifications for this role include:
University degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, reporting, data analytics, or business intelligence in a complex organizational environment
Strong analytical skills and sound knowledge of financial procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Power Query
