Lead preparation and review of electrical engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, and calculations
Develop and oversee key design outputs:
Electrical equipment and load lists
I/O lists
Plot plans and area classification drawings
Single line diagrams
Motor control schematics
Wiring diagrams and cable schedules
Panel schedules and equipment layouts
PLC control panel layouts and I/O schematics
Junction box wiring diagrams
Electric heat trace designs
Evaluate and specify electrical and control equipment
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Review and stamp engineering deliverables as required
Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
Lead electrical scope across projects from design through execution
Support planning, scheduling, and tracking of engineering deliverables
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior/intermediate engineers
Participate in design reviews and technical decision-making
Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy
Project & Client Coordination
Act as a key technical contact for clients, vendors, and contractors
Respond to RFIs and technical queries during execution
Support RFQs, vendor evaluations, and procurement activities
Assist with estimates, proposals, and project budgeting
What you must have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
P.Eng designation (APEGA) or eligibility for registration
Ability to provide engineering stamp (or operate under a permit to practice)
Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices
Proficiency with electrical design and calculation tools
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
8–10 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial environments
Experience in Oil & Gas or heavy industrial projects
Proven ability to support or lead engineering scopes on projects
Experience reviewing and approving engineering deliverables
Exposure to stamped design work is a strong asset
Salary/Rate Range: $85.00 -$105.00 /hour
