Wage Transparency: The base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.

About The Role

We are seeking a Compliance Coordinator to support the execution and ongoing maintenance of NFP Canada’s compliance framework. Reporting to the Director, Compliance, Canada Region, this role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who is looking to build or deepen their career in insurance regulatory compliance across Property & Casualty, Life, Group Benefits, and Retirement lines of business.

The Compliance Coordinator plays a key role in supporting regulatory, carrier, and internal compliance obligations, including licensing, onboarding and offboarding employees, contract tracking, privacy and complaint matters, and compliance program administration.

What You’ll Do

  • Licensing & Compliance Administration
    • Assist with tracking and supporting corporate and individual licensing requirements across Canadian jurisdictions. (i.e. reviewing applications for accuracy, tracking status of submissions, and maintaining detailed records of all licensed individuals)
    • Providing support and guidance to applicants, helping them navigate the complexities of the licensing process, and answering any inquiries related to licensure
    • Support onboarding and offboarding compliance processes for new and departing employees
    • Monitor and respond to employee inquiries and escalate issues or risks as appropriate
    • Provide administrative and analytical support to the Compliance team to meet regulatory deadlines and internal reporting needs
    • Management of corporate registrations and filings
    • Management of organizational memberships, including renewals and roster updates

    • Support the execution of NFP Canada’s compliance framework and assist with day‑to‑day regulatory compliance activities across multiple provinces
    • Understanding of regulatory requirements and guidelines, ensuring that licensees are compliant with various provincial insurance acts and regulations
    • Carrier & MGA Compliance
  • Carrier & MGA Compliance
    • Track carrier and MGA contracts (including Lloyd’s related agreements) and related compliance obligations
    • Support completion and maintenance of due diligence questionnaires, compliance checklists, and audit recommendations
    • Assist with ongoing monitoring of carrier and MGA compliance documentation and contractual requirements

    • Support the development, rollout, and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
    • Assist with tracking compliance training requirements and completion, including regulatory and internal training programs
    • Help identify opportunities to improve compliance processes and documentation
    • Privacy, Complaints & Incident Management
  • Privacy, Complaints & Incident Management
    • Support the management of customer complaints, including tracking, documentation, and reporting
    • Assist with privacy related matters, including privacy incidents, inquiries, and record keeping, in coordination with the Compliance and Privacy teams
    • Ensure compliance files and records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with internal retention requirements

What You Bring

  • Post‑secondary education in business, legal studies, insurance, compliance, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in insurance, compliance, regulatory, underwriting, brokerage operations, or a related role
  • Knowledge of, or strong interest in learning, Canadian insurance regulatory requirements
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, or regulatory processes is an asset
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with high attention to detail
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to plan, balance and prioritize multiple work demands and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Compliance, Legal, Operations, and business stakeholders
  • Bilingual (English/French) capability is an asset
  • Experience with automating processes in Microsoft Office software an asset
