Planner I R&D

Maxsys is hiring for a medical research & manufacturing company in Ottawa's west end.

Position Overview:

As a member of the Engineering Services team, the candidate will contribute to the Research and Development team’s success by supporting multiple project teams, simultaneously. Main tasks will include, and are not limited to:

• Planning of cartridge and component manufacturing
• Attend regular R&D project meetings to discuss needs and changes
• Providing weekly updates to the program team
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Operations regarding the scheduling of R&D Project work orders and communicate status as required. Ensure all forms and documents are accurate and up to date.
• Schedule and track all special orders and strive for complete and on time delivery
• Manage the inventory of all required materials, including appropriate disposal
• Understand and comply with Quality and EH&S policies, procedures and guidelines
• Safeguard the environment and facilitate a safe and healthy workplace culture.
• Other miscellaneous duties may be required.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate for our team will bring the following education, experiences, knowledge, and skills to the position:

• College Diploma (3 year program), or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1-3 years relevant experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, able to use multiple formulas/functions. Knowledge of Excel macros considered an asset
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize own daily work to meet established schedules.
• Ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications
• Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
• Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work independently and in groups.
• Judgment and decision-making skills, organization, coordinating and planning skills. Ability to work in a multi-task environment, under pressure, and with a propensity for continuous learning.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge and understanding of business processes and requirements.

Familiarity with any of the following areas would be an asset:

• Database management
• Production and inventory management
• Demand planning
• Material coordination
• Medical devices, their development and use
• ISO/FDA regulations

This is a Monday to Friday position.
