We are seeking a strategic yet technical leader to manage a team of Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers driving enterprise analytics initiatives that deliver actionable insights across global business functions. This role combines leadership solution design and stakeholder engagement to enable scalable reporting and data-driven decision-making.

In this role primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead & Mentor: Manage and develop a team of 47 Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement;
  • Strategic Planning: Partner with business and IT leadership to define the analytics strategy and roadmap aligning with enterprise data initiatives;
  • Hands-On Delivery: Contribute to solution design and development including data modeling Power BI/Fabric reporting and integration with enterprise data platforms;
  • End-to-End Execution: Drive projects from requirements gathering and process design through to production deployment in a cloud environment;
  • Business Partnership: Translate complex business challenges into analytical solutions present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders and champion data-driven decision-making;
  • Technical Product Ownership: Act as product owner within Agile teams ensuring delivery of high-quality scalable analytics solutions;
  • Standards & Best Practices: Define UX and data visualization standards optimize processes and promote adoption of modern tools and technologies;
  • Global Collaboration: Manage initiatives across multiple time zones primarily U.S.-based teams in a matrix environment.

Key Elements

We are looking for the followingminimum qualifications for this role:

  • Education: ./. in Computer Science Mathematics or related field; Masters preferred;
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of building and leading high-performing technical teams in a data or analytics organization. At least 5 to 7 years experience;
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Advanced Power BI and Microsoft Fabric experience including SSAS design and expert DAX skills. At least 7 years experience;
    • Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services and data integration architectures. At least 7 years experience;
    • Hands-on experience with data visualization report development and enterprise data modeling. At least 7 years experience;
  • Business Acumen: Ability to analyze complex business challenges and translate them into actionable solutions. At least 7 years experience;
  • Methodologies: Skilled in Agile practices and managing multiple concurrent initiatives under tight deadlines. At least 3 years experience;
  • Experience with Python and data science concepts (preferred);
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing and BI analytics (preferred);
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems (preferred).

Role Specific Information:

  • Location: Remote (from one of our Canadian site);
  • Annual bonus based on performance;
  • Schedule: Daytime between Monday and Friday;
  • Permanent position as of the hiring full-time 37.5hrs per week.

About Safety Assessment
Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance. From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth efficient journey to market. Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
