This role requires the candidate to work onsite at our customer location. To provide onsite customer support, the candidate must be willing to work in the Newfoundland, Canada area.

In this role, the Field Service Apprentice will observe and perform various equipment service processes and procedures to drive customer satisfaction and ensure proper functionality across multiple GE HealthCare service modalities. This position is part of GE HealthCare Canada’s two-year Service Apprenticeship Program (CSAP) designed for recent graduates interested in launching a career in healthcare technology.

Responsibilities

• Work within hospital and clinical environments to evaluate and troubleshoot diagnostic imaging equipment and assist with repairs.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on designated imaging systems.
• Conduct safety and environmental inspections, ensuring compliance with GE HealthCare standards, Canadian regulations, and customer site requirements.
• Complete all required service, maintenance, and repair documentation according to hospital protocols and GE HealthCare policies.
• Maintain ongoing communication with customers to ensure issue resolution, follow-up, and high customer satisfaction.
• Learn proper care, calibration, and use of tools and test equipment.
• Enhance technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and practices related to medical equipment service.
• Work alongside experienced Field Service Representatives on progressive troubleshooting, repairs, and installation support.
• Participate as a member of the local service team to provide efficient service delivery across assigned accounts.
• Complete all required Quality, Compliance, and Safety training on time.
• Identify and escalate any customer quality or compliance concerns immediately.
• Adhere to GE HealthCare’s Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Policy, and all applicable Canadian laws and regulations.
