Part-Time Accountant

Our client, a growing local company located in southeast Calgary, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant for a temporary part-time position (1–3 months) . This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a close-knit, family-oriented culture and play a key role in transitioning their accounting records to QuickBooks Online .

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and problem solver , comfortable working independently to assess current processes, streamline workflows, and ensure accurate and efficient data migration. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work in a supportive, community-driven environment while contributing to the company’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform general accounting duties, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and summaries.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with maintaining accurate financial records.
• Support the accounts payable process, including invoice review and payment processing (as needed)
• Assist with accruals, intercompany entries, and variance analysis.
• Maintain and ensure the accuracy of data in accounting systems, including QuickBooks Online.
• Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions.
• Collaborate across departments to gather financial data and improve reporting accuracy.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the adoption of new tools and accounting processes.
