ONxpress Transportation Partners has been selected by Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx to lead the charge in modernizing rail service across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Areas with the On-Corridor Works project. What You will Do:

• Collaborate with the Estimating team to assess and estimate project costs from first principles for various scopes of work, including heavy civils, structures, track, and stations.
• Review drawings and tender documents to understand project requirements and scope.
• Utilize design models and integrated digital delivery (IDD) software for accurate project scope evaluation and quantity generation.
• Develop detailed bills of quantities (BOQ) using advanced techniques, including tools like Bluebeam.
• Contribute to the establishment of material price lists, labor and equipment requirements and rates, and assist in obtaining competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Research historical data, including purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis, and benchmarking, to compile summary reports and support estimating guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver accurate and comprehensive estimates aligned with project objectives.

What You will Bring to the Team:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
• Educational background with a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex construction drawings including experience of using BIM and IDD software.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and cost control techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Microsoft software (Excel, Word, etc.), and experience with Adobe, Visio, and Bluebeam is a plus.
• Experience of using estimating software, the project uses InEight Hard Dollar.
• Efficient time management and organizational skills for handling time-sensitive situations.
• Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and excellence.

Expected compensation for this role is between $70,000-$110,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration. In addition to base salary ONxpress also offers a comprehensive medical and dental program, RRSP with company matching and the potential to participate in our discretionary, performance based bonus program.
