About Us

McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.

The Role

You will work with a team of tradespeople to proactively maintain equipment helping the site to operate safely and efficiently. As a team member, you make data driven decisions, follow your processes and collaborate with others to make improvements as opportunities are identified.

In this role, you will:

• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance checks on a regular basis to ensure safe and reliable production.
• Install and maintain all measurement and control systems including DCS/PLC, flowmeters, pH transmitters, density gauges, pressure transmitters, level transmitters and online analyzers.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and document repairs.
• Maintain leaky feeder/telephone/radio communications.
  
  

Required:

• interprovincial red seal or instrumentation engineering technology diploma;
• three to five years of directly related work experience in an industrial or mine environment;
• required to work both underground and on surface;
• ability to work in a team environment; and
• work a rotation schedule and commute to site by aircraft.

Recommended:

• experience with FOXBORO DCS’s and/or Unity PLC systems;
• experience with SAP/S4 HANA; and
• experience with various instrumentation programming and configuration software.
