Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for account reconciliation, financial reporting, and analysis activities across multiple business programs and client relationships. This role supports the accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements.

The successful candidate will work with large datasets, perform complex reconciliations, prepare financial reports, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy and timely reporting. This position requires strong analytical abilities, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Reconcile full trial balance accounts and ensure financial accuracy.
• Analyze large volumes of transactional and financial data.
• Prepare recurring financial reports and support month-end processes.
• Utilize Power Query and advanced Excel functions to automate and improve reconciliation processes.
• Maintain documentation to support reconciliation and reporting activities.
• Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve financial issues and reporting requirements.
• Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure timely completion of deliverables while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with:
  • Account reconciliations
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes
  • Processing and analyzing large datasets
  • Complex financial reconciliations
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
  • Power Query
  • Data matching and reconciliation
  • Large dataset analysis
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation or progress toward CPA.
• Experience with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP).
• Experience in a highly regulated or transaction-heavy environment.
• Experience supporting external reporting requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
