Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring all ready‑mix concrete products consistently meet quality standards and customer specifications. It offers strong opportunities for growth, with broad exposure across multiple plants, field operations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively with plant and field personnel while demonstrating a high level of quality focus, attention to detail, and ownership. The QC Technician will monitor inspection processes and is encouraged to propose enhancements to quality controls and testing practices. This role is based primarily in Orangeville, with regular travel to additional plants in Alliston and Elora, as well as various field locations, to support business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Management of the concrete lab including testing and monitoring of the manufacturing process
  • Ensure compliance with mix design and job specification
  • Work directly with production managers on test results to aid in the production of quality ready-mix concrete
  • Proactively suggest improvements to current processes
  • Implement corrective actions when required, after consultation with necessary operational personnel
  • Represent the company in a professional, positive manner when dealing with internal and external customers
  • Additional duties as assigned

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum two-year Engineering Technology diploma, or equivalent experience in a Quality Control position would be considered an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints / shop drawings
  • Current CCIL / ACI certification for concrete testing, or willingness to pursue
  • Business Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Desire to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, customer-focused environment
  • Be aware of and comply with all relevant safety policy and procedures
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
  • Must possess a valid class G driver’s license with the ability to travel to work locations and job sites as needed
  • Cultural Requirements

  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with a diverse workforce
  • Pay : $24.75 to $34.75 per hour
