Job Title: Electronic Assembly and Test Operator
Job Description

This role focuses on performing automated system-level testing and electronic assembly for network switching equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will assemble, inspect, and test products using detailed process instructions, support continuous improvement, and contribute to a safe, clean, and collaborative production floor.

Responsibilities

• Perform automated system-level testing, including pre-test, burn-in, and final test, on network switching equipment to verify product functionality.
• Monitor products during test, promptly identify any failures, and report them to the Manufacturing Line Lead or Technician.
• Report test software or equipment issues and suggest improvements to the Manufacturing Line Lead or Technician.
• Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) into product cases according to specifications.
• Inspect PCBA and metal work in accordance with inspection procedures to ensure quality standards.
• Complete final assembly and packaging of products, following documented processes and quality requirements.
• Use fixtures and power/hand tools safely and correctly according to product specifications.
• Follow detailed process instructions and work consistently toward meeting daily production goals.
• Prepare and kit picklists for the production lines and assist peers with water spider and de-trashing activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional working environment by complying with all procedures and standards.
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks and supporting colleagues as needed.
• Work at different workstations or areas on a rotational basis to reduce fatigue and support production needs.
• Share ideas openly to support daily team success and overall continuous improvement.
• Handle basic SAP inventory-related tasks if needed, such as supporting material tracking or kitting activities.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• 1–3 years of electronic assembly experience, including work with PCB assemblies.
• Hands-on experience with production or assembly line operations.
• Experience using test equipment for electronic testing in a production setting.
• Ability to perform mechanical and electrical assembly of PCBAs into product enclosures.
• Proficiency with general production tasks, including assembly and packaging.
• Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with ISA standards, 5S practices, ESD controls, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures accurately.
• Strong attention to detail for inspection of PCBA and metal work against defined procedures.
• Capability to rotate between different workstations and tasks while maintaining productivity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with electronic testing of network or similar electronic equipment.
• Prior test technician experience in a manufacturing or electronics environment.
• Previous PCB assembly and soldering experience.
• Experience working on an assembly line or production line in a lean manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with SAP inventory processes is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Comfort working with fixtures and specialized test setups.
• Ability to contribute ideas for process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support peers with tasks such as kitting, water spider duties, and de-trashing.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility operating a first shift schedule from 7:00 . to 4:00 . You will work on an assembly and production line that focuses on network switching equipment, handling PCBAs, metal components, and finished product assemblies. The environment emphasizes lean manufacturing, 5S practices, ESD-safe handling, and adherence to ISA-related standards. You will use fixtures, test equipment, and a variety of hand and power tools while following structured processes and documented procedures. The production floor is kept clean, organized, and professional, with a strong focus on safety and maintaining an orderly workspace. Regular 15-minute breaks are built into the shift to support comfort and productivity during the workday.
