DH-THIRD COOK

Position Summary

Responsible for preparing quality food on a timely and accurate basis to the guest’s specifications based on established guidelines.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Provides exceptional and professional service to our guests and team members

• Ensures the well-being of our guests and team members by being alert to and reporting potential hazards

• Models all Deerhurst Resort Standards while caring for the guests, co-workers and owners

• Comfortable making responsible decisions and develops recommendations for effective problem solving

• Maintains a high focus on sanitation and working clean

• Handles and stores food as per the sanitary guidelines

• Complies with all loss prevention guidelines

• Reports any faulty equipment immediately

• Cooks food to order per recipe card and plating guide

• Recognizes quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy and other meat products

• Completes all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Any culinary work experience

• Completion of Food Safety/Food Handler courses (Asset)

• Is flexible with their schedule, available for shift work including evenings, weekends and holidays as business levels require

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift

• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs

• Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Visa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in Canada.
