Construction Gély has a fleet of over 380 heavy machinery units that are meticulously maintained. Our mechanical department is made up of more than 30 professionals who combine their expertise and ingenuity to meet the challenges of construction in the Arctic.

Based at our permanent garage in Iqaluit , the candidate will have the opportunity to work on various machinery such as excavators, drills, cranes, shovels, bulldozers, off-road trucks, crushers, etc.

TASK

• Ensure periodic preventive maintenance;
• Perform diagnostics to detect breakdowns and malfunctions;
• Evaluate the extent of the repairs to be carried out and plan the required time;
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble defective parts;
• Test repaired equipment to ensure its works well;
• Perform welding, cutting, and / or drilling of metal as required to perform their duties;
• Be able to operate and move machinery or vehicles as needed;
• Identify replacement parts in parts books for ordering purposes.
• Issue recommendations for improvement or maintenance to optimize machinery;
• Work in collaboration with construction sites and thus participate in achieving objectives and respecting project deadlines.
