(250) 842 - 6148 Two Intermediate Teaching Position Start date: September 2st 2025/2026 school year.QUALIFICATIONS:· Bachelor of Education degree· Must have or be eligible for BC Teacher Certification· Experience working with First Nations students· Good communication skills, self-motivated, compassionate, empathetic, and enthusiastic;· Ability to manage challenging student behaviors.Knowledge and experience:· Primary Programs: Read Well, Saxon Math, Acadience Reading· Intermediate programs: Reading Mastery, Six Minute Solution, Jump Math/Math Focus, Corrective Reading, Third Quest· Effective classroom management skills;· Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture;· Effective planning strategies which include lesson plans, unit plans and year plans;· Comprehensive assessment strategies which accommodate First Nations learning styles;· Willingness to integrate appropriate technologies in the classroom;· Experience developing and implementing IEPs;· Willingness to incorporate a variety of teaching methods to motivate and encourage students including the use of traditional knowledge in the outdoors and on the land;· Willingness to participate in local community and cultural events;· Experience using technology and web-based resources in instruction including Smartboards and IPads;· Maintains effective and consistent communication with students and parents to discuss progress and goals· Monitor virtual classrooms during distance/remote learning: student progress, student attendance, student mental health Open until filled.
