QUALIFICATIONS :

Education, Training And Experience

Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives. Advanced preparation in emergency and / or obstetrics specialty training. Two (2) years' recent related experience in medical / surgical, obstetrics, emergency / urgent care, neonatal resuscitation, emergency pediatrics or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.

• Ability to apply the nursing process effectively in a well-organized manner to the care of assigned patients.
• Ability to physically perform the duties of the position.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts including co-workers, physicians, community agencies, representatives, patients / clients / residents and families.
• Ability to remain calm and to act appropriately in stressful and emergency situations.
