Accounts Payable Specialist

Position: Accounts Payable Specialist Location: Downtown, Toronto (fully on-site) Job Type: Permanent Salary: $70,000k-75,000k (great RRSP and vacation) Our client, a leader in investment management is looking to add an Accounts Payable Specialist to their team on a permanent basis! Reporting to the Director, Finance, this role will be responsible for performing full-cycle account payable functions including analysis, reconciliation, coding and posting of invoices. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of AP experience, strong Excel proficiency and the confidence to communicate effectively with all levels of the business! Responsibilities: - Ensure invoices are analyzed, reconciled, coded, and posted accurately and on time. - Interpret and align codes with published forecasts or historical records. - Maintain and update vendor records, including payment preferences. - Input project codes into MS Dynamics. - Address urgent "rush" time-sensitive invoices and payments promptly. - Communicate with internal approvers and project managers regarding overdue items, inquiries, and rejections. - Generate weekly reports on the analysis of accounts payable approval workflows. - Issue formal rejection letters to vendors when required. Required Qualifications: - Ability to communicate professionally & effectively with all levels of the business and vendors - Certificate/Diploma in Accounting or Finance - 5-8 years of experience in a full-cycle Accounts Payable position - Ability to identify invoice variances, assign project coding, reconcile and account balances - Strong proficiency in Excel, including working knowledge of Pivot Tables and xlookup - Working knowledge of MS Dynamics & OCR tools considered an asset - Solid understanding of accounting concepts and principles - Ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines If this sounds like you, please email your Word version resume to Angelica Stewart angelica.stewart@quantum.ca.
