Compass is seeking a Laborer for our Retrofit team.

What You Will Do

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Follow written and oral instructions from the Foreman/Lead Hand
• Clean, organize, and sweep the work area and yard as required
• Assist tradesmen as required
• Remove and install pressure vessels and process piping
• Move parts and materials in a safe and competent manner
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting or threading
• Cut and thread pipes using cutting torches, pipe threaders, power and hand tools
• Operate equipment in a safe and competent manner
• Use of basic hand tools and power tools
• Assist in other areas of shop as required and assigned by Branch Coordinator
• Participate in Compass Safety Program including accident investigations and worksite inspections
• Wear PPE and observe health & safety polices and procedures at all times
• Strong promoter of the Compass Brand Promise
• Travel to field locations for and provide cross functional work duties as required

What You Bring

Your education and experience include

• Interest and ability to move into an apprenticeship position.
• Apprentice would be considered.
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Strong attention to safe work procedures
• Physically able to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
• Possess good driving habits and have a clean Drivers Abstract
• Team player with attention to detail
