Senior Financial Analyst

Our client is sourcing a Senior Financial Analyst for a 6-month contract.
About the Opportunity
- Serve as a subject matter expert on accounting standards, providing technical guidance and practical interpretation to internal and external stakeholders
- Lead the modernization, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of accounting policies and procedures to ensure alignment with applicable standards and legislative requirements
- Develop new accounting guidance where gaps exist, ensuring consistent application across the organization
- Partner with internal teams and external parties (e.g., auditors, oversight bodies) to support accurate and compliant financial reporting
- Oversee periodic reviews of internal control certifications related to financial reporting and technology controls at interim and year-end stages
- Design and implement financial governance frameworks, including roles and accountability models (e.g., responsibility and approval structures)
- Support rollout activities through training, communication, and change management to ensure organization-wide adoption of policies and frameworks
About You
Qualifications & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or a related discipline
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
- At least five years of progressive experience in technical accounting, financial policy, or financial reporting environments
- Strong understanding of public-sector or complex accounting standards (e.g., PSAS or comparable frameworks such as IFRS or U.S. GAAP)
- Experience working with external reviewers, regulators, or governing entities
- Advanced proficiency with standard office productivity tools
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting matters to senior leadership and non-technical audiences
