Our client is a multiple award-winning leader in the real estate development and home building industry. Due to exciting growth, the team is expanding, and looking to hire a Controller to lead accounting operations and drive excellence in financial reporting across multiple legal entities. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements under ASPE while supporting strategic decision-making at the corporate level. The Controller will manage a team of six and work closely with the VP of Finance to maintain strong internal controls, standardized reporting processes, and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review consolidated financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.Oversee intercompany accounting, eliminations, and reconciliations.Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.Analyze financial metrics, variances, and KPIs for senior management.Standardize reporting processes and policies across multiple entities.Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals.Support external audits and liaise with auditors for consolidated financial audits.Collaborate with the VP of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and implement best practices.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce.CPA is required.7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3–5 years in consolidated reporting.Strong knowledge of ASPE.Experience with multi-entity consolidation and financial systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).3+ years of managing staff.Demonstrated ability to analyze financial results to support business decisions.Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate results under tight deadlines.Key Competencies
