We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Canadian accounting practices, a solid understanding of financial compliance, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Lead quarterly and year-end closing processes, ensuring all records and reconciliations are complete and accurate.
- Maintain and balance general ledgers and sub-ledgers, verifying consistency with supporting documentation.
- Conduct monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, resolving discrepancies as necessary.
- Collaborate with management to prepare annual budgets and perform monthly variance analysis with explanations.
- Identify, analyze, and reconcile financial discrepancies through strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Oversee tax filings and address related issues, including objections or audit inquiries.
- Support government audits by preparing required documentation and ensuring compliance.
- Review financial schedules prepared by external accountants (T2 and CO17) to ensure accuracy.
- Develop and implement internal accounting policies, procedures, and control systems.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and provide financial insights as requested by management.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).Experience : Minimum of 2 years of full-cycle accounting and year-end closing experience in Canada.Languages : Fluency in English and French (spoken and written) required.Technical Skills : Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Soft Skills : Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and time-management skills.Work Style : Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Work Location
