Front-end Web Developpers

Job Description

Our technology team is a dynamic group of Front-End and Back-end developers who produce and maintain web and mobile sites and applications for our customers with the goal of generating “Wow” as a reaction to project delivery.

Rather than working with all-in-one CMS (such as Wordpress, Drupal or Joomla), we carry out our projects with platforms (framework) such as Laravel using a template engine such as TWIG in order to have full control over the appearance of our projects.

In collaboration with the Front-End team and the Back-End team, be aware of the good practices at the development level to allow our stack to evolve well over time and make the maintainability of our solutions as easy as possible.

Canadian work permit required, and residency in the Montréal area required.

Responsibilities

The front-end web developer is responsible for producing and developing the front-end code (TWIG, HTML, JS) from design prepared by our design team with support from one or many back-end developers that will maintain the infrastructure.

The developer will touch on several platform projects of all kinds, respecting the frameworks and requirements of the specifications but integrating a good dose of personal initiative.
Several projects consist in modifying sites with old platforms, often inherited from other firms (sometimes still in Angular 1, Jquery, vanilla Javascript), but the new projects follow the following technological stack :
PHP Platform: Laravel, in MVC structure (Maintained by back-end developers)
ORM: Eloquent (Maintained by back-end developers)
Templating: Twig, via Twigbridge

Collaboration methodology: Gitflow, via Gitlab.
Development spaces under LAMP, with Cloudlinux and Cpanel

Requirements

The web developer must be comfortable with project management frameworks that vary from project to project and must be able to work as a team on files of different sizes (from 2 hours to 4 years!).
3 to 5 years experience in a similar position*
Proficiency in HTML5/CSS3
Basic SEO knowledge
Knowledge of compiled CSS and JS tools
Control of custom Javascript and JQuery
Knowledge (or strong interest to learn) Twig
Basis abilities in Photoshop (Cropping, resizing and cutting images)
Be familiar with developing a versioning system
DEC Multimedia Integration or other relevant training
Knowledge and understanding of standards creating web and mobile sites
Knowledge and understanding of the production process and mobile Web (adaptive, mobile)
Portfolio and/or online references mandatory
Excellent communication in French
Design and typography, tables, graphs, data presentation

Assets

Experience of working on CMS powered templates or themes
Basic knowledge of Composer
Firebase knowledge
Figma knowledge
Knowledge of Phonegap
Knowledge of Angular 11+
IONIC and Mobile
Bilingual. French/English

*The position involves an intermediate experience Front-end developer, but high quality junior candidates with excellent training and a well-filled portfolio will not be automatically rejected if they meet all other criteria.
