Role : Agile Coach

Length : Contract for 12 months, starting ASAP.

Location : Vancouver preferred, Calgary applicants are considered

Job Description Reporting to the Manager of the Project Management Office, the Agile Coach : coaches, mentors, trains individuals, teams, domains, and the organization towards a high level of agile maturity.

Responsibilities :

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Provide Agile mentoring and training to teams and individuals at our Vancouver location and various operational sites.
  • Support and mentor the planning and delivery of team onboarding, uplifting, and / or accelerator programs.
  • Provide mentorship when required for teams to guide an agile approach to daily meetings, planning, teamwork, and managing workflow.
  • Add to library of agile knowledge through the development of Agile Playbook articles, blogs, case studies, podcasts, or generation of video content.
  • Use industry best practices in mentoring, process improvement experience, and agile methodologies to help teams deliver business value.
  • Lead or participate in the design of training material aligned to the emergent needs of the organization
  • Speak at conferences and professional community meetups.
  • Lead the agile maturity journey for an assigned domain / portfolio / Team of teams pathing out and documenting their plan with them to reach their maturity goals.

Qualifications :

  • Hands-on experience applying lean / Agile methodologies proven by the experience of being a Scrum Master or Product Owner on an agile team.
  • Excellent presentation, training, and coaching skills, a working engagement product is the highest measure of progress, you also bring concise narratives and strong transparency through high-quality presentation documents
  • Proven experience mentoring and coaching agile delivery teams
  • Embodies the characteristics of an agile leader
  • Can demonstrate the use of strong communication skills in interpersonal conflict conditions
  • Practiced in interpersonal, cultural, or digital transformation
  • Ability and willingness to train and facilitate in-person events
  • Ability and willingness to use virtual teamwork tools (Miro, Virtual Whiteboards, MS Teams) to host pieces of training or facilitation for geographically dispersed teams
  • Understanding of DevOps and DevOps tools is desirable (Azure DevOps in particular)
  • Ability to craft workshops or interventions aligned with Adult Learning Principles
  • Passionate problem solver and facilitator who thrives in navigating ambiguous situations
  • Humility, is the understanding that a learning organization starts with the recognition of what you do not know and the value of learning from others
  • Excellent executive function skills demonstrated through excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • 5+ years of large-scale Agile mentoring experience with methods such as Scrum or Kanban
  • 5+ years’ experience in working with / leading multiple teams
  • Able to work remotely most of the time. Available to travel occasionally (
  • Elevated credentials are beneficial, like Scrum Alliance CTC, CEC; SAFe SPC; IC Agile
  • Certified Expert in Agile Coaching (ICE-AC); or a demonstrable development path of training and practical experience showing your evolution as a mentor.
  • Familiarity with traditional project delivery and transformation to Agile is a bonus.
