Event Servers play a key role in the execution of special events. They assist with setup and breakdown, deliver food and beverage service with efficiency and professionalism, and help maintain a clean, organized event space. Event Servers are knowledgeable about the event menu and are expected to monitor food quality and presentation, while providing attentive service throughout the event.
The Day to Day :
- Assist with the setup, organization, and breakdown of event spaces, including table settings, décor, service stations, and equipment, ensuring all areas meet Oliver & Bonacini’s presentation and brand standards.
- Provide attentive and professional food and beverage service to guests, following service sequences and directions from the Management and Events teams.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization throughout the event by clearing plates, cutlery, glassware, and service areas in a timely and discreet manner.
- Monitor food presentation, portioning, and quality, ensuring consistency with menu specifications and immediately communicating any concerns to the culinary or management team.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of event menus, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens, in order to confidently answer guest questions and make informed recommendations.
- Respond promptly, courteously, and professionally to guest needs, requests, and feedback, ensuring a positive and memorable guest experience.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow servers, bartenders, culinary staff, and event managers to ensure seamless service flow and a well-coordinated event.
- Adhere to all Oliver & Bonacini health, safety, and sanitation standards, as well as Smart Serve and food handling regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, representing the O&B brand with confidence and hospitality excellence.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Management to support the successful execution of events.
Qualifications
Available for a minimum of three weekdays or evenings per weekProven track record of at least one year of professional serving experience (strongly preferred)Valid Smart Serve Certification is a requirementExceptional attention to detail and commitment to excellenceDemonstrated ability to maintain composure and efficiency under high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environmentSuperior organizational skills with a proven capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyConsistent demonstration of professional urgency and ability to maintain momentum throughout shiftsFlexible Availability ( evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed)Legally eligible to work in Canada
