We are currently looking for a few special people to accompany and assist our charming young adult son with some of his scheduled activities and adaptive disability programming.

Qualifications

The main qualifications required to make these partnerships a success are a compassionate heart and a great sense of humor.

The right candidate will know how to make the best of every situation with a desire to learn along side our son to help him achieve fulfillment and independence in his daily activities and work.

Previous experience in a disability support role, education, health or social sciences, therapy services - not required but would be considered an asset.

Proof of current Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector) required.

Copy of current Drivers Abstract will possibly be requested.

Responsibilities

Examples of where support will be needed :

Assist in sport and physical activity, social or community events, as well as in home or out of home respite and more.

Provide safe transportation to and from activities.

Collaborate with various members of the care team including family members, therapists, coaches, and other staff to ensure support plan is effective - possibly assist in building a personal support plan and / or scheduling of activities.

Attend training and certification courses in regards to disability care.

In all areas, there will be a focus on fun, healthy connection with others, life skills and safety.

Pay Rate

Starting at $18.00 / hr - based on experience

Term Of Appointment

Positions are open currently and the time commitments would revolve around the scheduled events as well as the candidates role and availability.
