Overview
Neuropsychologist, Mental Health Patient Service Unit – Temporary Full Time (0,8) (until December 31, 2027) at CHEO. Role involves providing neuropsychological services to children and youth with complex mental health needs in an outpatient setting, in collaboration with the Precision Child and Youth Mental Health (PCYMH) Collaboratory.
This position offers an innovative opportunity to contribute to clinical practice and research within a leading academic health sciences centre, including integration with the PCYMH Collaboratory to co-design cognitive-function-informed care pathways to improve outcomes in child and youth mental health.
Responsibilities
- Provide neuropsychological assessment in the patient’s preferred language within an outpatient mental health setting for children and youth with a variety of mental health conditions (e.g. anxiety, depression).
- Provide consultation and short-term intervention to children / youth seen for neuropsychological assessment.
- Liaise with other health professionals regarding assessment findings and implications for management.
- Provide supervision / training to pre-doctoral psychology residents and practicum students.
- Provide supervision to psychometrists assisting in neuropsychological services.
- Participate in program evaluation and other research activities.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Psychology with a focus in clinical neuropsychology from a CPA or APA accredited program (Essential)Registration as a Psychologist in Ontario with a designated practice area in clinical neuropsychology with children and adolescents (Essential)Experience in a paediatric health-care setting (Essential)Experience with administration and interpretation of comprehensive neuropsychological assessments in paediatric populations (Essential)Knowledge of neurocognitive risk factors associated with various complex medical / surgical conditions (Essential)Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team (Essential)Bilingual - Fluency in both French and English (Essential)Supervision Experience (Preferred)Additional notes
