Job Description :
Business Systems / Business Analyst Hybrid
Apex Systems is a large staffing and consulting firm and we are looking for a senior Business Systems / Business Analyst who is looking to work at a Big 5 Bank supporting highly visible Technology Initiatives.
If you are successful at working within highly matrixed environments and with multiple Technology and Business Teams from conceptualization to execution this is the role for you!
Client : Big 5 Bank
Location : Hybrid out of downtown Toronto. Must be ok with hybrid 1-2 days a week.
Start Date : Mid End September 2024
Contract : 6 months contract, possibility to extend
Working hours : hrs per day
Knowledge and Qualifications :
- Possesses a university degree / college diploma and / or 8+ years progressive business analysis experience, with a very strong usage of a broad range of business analysis techniques in a variety of project contexts, supporting medium- to large-size projects
- Expert Level knowledge of the business analysis theory, practice, and use of techniques. Able to support the business analyst / consultant throughout the project delivery life-cycle based on professional experience this includes understanding and being familiar with the application of techniques associated with data modeling, process modeling, and user-centered design within the context of the organizational standards
- Ability to deliver all requirement artifacts through all Phases of requirements delivery on all project sizes and complexity, and ability to lead requirements delivery on large program / enterprise scale initiatives.
- Ability to lead others through delivery of requirements following Traditional Waterfall and Agile approaches.
Previous experience supporting multi-application projects in both Agile and Waterfall.

- Strong leadership and facilitation competencies to drive requirements process, which will enable candidate to overcome complex project delivery issues such as scope definition, project constraints, managing risks within the context of a demanding and face-paced environment.
- Demonstrates a passion for delivery excellence, and the goal of ensuring comprehensive analysis performed throughout all aspects of job functions, leading to requirements quality and completeness.
- Demonstrates advanced writing and documentation skills
- Possesses expert level problem-solving and analytical skills
- Displays solid interviewing and facilitation skills
- Advanced understanding and use of tools associated with the role ( Visio)
- Is able to communicate with varying stakeholders in different situations (, one-on-one interviews, formal requirements gathering sessions, etc.)
- Possesses solid influencing and negotiating skill
Must Haves :
- Agile Experience
- Ability to work on multiple projects at different stages of SDLC in parallel
- Experience creating user stories, rules, use cases as well as functional requirementsAbility to break down EpicsIntegration related requirements
- Experience working on large complex projects from conceptualization to execution phase
- Strong Communication Skills, Self-Sufficient, "Pick up the phone" to complete tasks type of persona
- Proven experience working closely with both Business and Technology Teams; Liaison
- Day to Day will consist of 70% BA and 30% BSA type work (system requirements)
- Jira and Confluence
- Experience being a senior resource on a large end to end enhancement, integration, redesign and complete overhaul type initiatives
- Ability to breakdown large complex projects into smaller working effort
