The employer we represent, a boutique firm specializing in litigation and distinguished by its expertise in urgent and extraordinary appeals and remedies, wishes to expand its team by hiring a junior lawyer with approximately 1 to 4 years' experience in civil and commercial litigation.

The professional who joins this team will be called upon to work in collaboration with a seasoned lawyer on complex and / or large-scale cases, but will also be given responsibility for certain mandates depending on his / her level of experience.

As the successful candidate will be making frequent representations to the Court, he or she will need to be comfortable speaking in public, and possess marked strengths in pleading. That said, a considerable part of the role entrusted to this lawyer will involve his or her skills in legal analysis and reasoning. To this end, one of the main hiring criteria will be the candidate's drafting skills.

As a junior lawyer with this boutique firm, you will be exposed to litigation files in a variety of fields, including bankruptcy and insolvency, employment law, estate law and real estate law. You'll enjoy a high degree of independence, but you'll also have access to the mentorship and coaching of an experienced lawyer who masters the nuts and bolts of litigation practice.

This employer offers several options in terms of billable hours, while compensation can be determined according to different formulas, including scenarios with extremely competitive salaries.

Finally, please note that this job will regularly require your presence at courthouses in the metropolitan area, and will sometimes require travel to neighboring judicial districts (access to a car is therefore essential). On the other hand, you'll enjoy complete latitude in terms of telecommuting.
