Job descriptionDusty Residential Rural area Urban area Various locations Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding Prepare flooring plans and scheduling Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors Prepare tenders and quotations Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings Prepare and install hardwood floors Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations Estimate costs and materials Prepare floors for installations Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants Perform direct glue-down carpet installations Perform double-bond carpet installations Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate Criminal record check Vehicle supplied by employer Willing to travel Physically demanding Handling heavy loads Bending, crouching, kneeling Ability to distinguish between colours Safety equipment / gear Steel-toed safety boots Hard hat Gloves Mask Client focus Efficient interpersonal skills Judgement Organized Team player Health care plan Group insurance benefits Learning / training paid by employer Transportation provided by employer
