Administrative Assistant (Part-Time) - Fundraising Ambassador & Board Support
The Devon General Hospital Foundation is a community-based charitable organization dedicated to supporting the Devon General Hospital through fundraising, donor stewardship, and community engagement. We are looking for a highly organized Administrative Assistant to support the Foundation Board and its fundraising efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meaningful, community-focused work, brings fresh ideas and positive energy, and is comfortable taking initiative. The successful candidate is a strong communicator who can manage multiple priorities, work independently, and contribute innovative approaches to support the Foundation’s goals.
Position Details
- Part-time : 24–28 hours per week
- Hourly rate : $25 / hour
- Work Location : On site at Devon General Hospital
- Flexible hours
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a primary point of contact for Board members, hospital staff, donors, volunteers,and community inquiries.
Provide administrative, coordination, and reporting support to the Foundation Board.Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports.Assist with planning, organizing, and executing fundraising and donor recognition activitiesand events.
Support Gift Shop operations, inventory, ordering, and assist with volunteer scheduling.Assist with monthly donor data entry, recording and reporting.Point of contact for new volunteer applicants and update volunteer contact database.Uphold strict confidentiality and foster positive relationships within the community.Miscellaneous other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Office Administration Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 3 years of administrative experience.Professional, welcoming manner with strong attention to detail.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets).Experience with accounting software preferred.Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.Assets (Considered an Advantage)
Experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, or fundraising environment.Knowledge of charitable receipting or basic financial administration.Experience supporting volunteer-led organizations or Boards.This position reports directly to the Chair and Vice Chair of the Foundation Board and works closely with Board members, volunteers, hospital staff, and community partners.
