Planning Lead

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is seeking a Planning Lead with demonstrated capital project and redevelopment experience. Reporting to the Manager of Capital Projects, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team. Working within an established department, the Planning Lead role works with hospital leaders and clinical teams to shape how capital redevelopment projects are designed and built within the health centre. As Planning Lead, you will lead multiple projects simultaneously, requiring solid leadership, efficient planning, and effective prioritization skills.

As Planning Lead, you will :

• Lead capital projects from the early planning phases through design to construction and occupancy. These projects include Ontario Ministry of Health (MOH) funded expansion projects, capital redevelopment projects, large equipment replacements and renovations
• Facilitate space design discussions with a multi-disciplinary team of hospital professionals, architects and consultants to capture the planning and design requirements
• Use critical thinking to translate design intent into technical specifications and ultimately tangible construction of the space
• Lead teams and applying your technical skills to plan, schedule, and control all design and construction activities toward these objectives, while building positive professional relationships with internal and external partners
• Ensure that risks to the building and operations are mitigated and project objectives are delivered on-time and on-budget according to the defined scope, timeline and cost parameters

RVH is a regional health centre with multiple patient care locations in the community. Access to reliable transportation for travel to project sites may be required. During critical project implementation periods, the ability to work off-hours and / or non-business hours may be required. The Planning Lead position works onsite together with colleagues, project teams and contractors, with an option to work-from-home on an occasional basis as project deliverables allow.
