The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is now accepting applications to fill the following Full Time Permanent position based out of the Daycare / Headstart at Mikisiw Awasis Early Learning Centre in La Ronge, SK :

Nutrition Worker

Duties include :

  • Preparation of nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 0 years and older.
  • Ensure food is appropriately prepped for children aged 0 and older (bite sizes, texture, etc.)
  • Maintain and sanitize cooking facility and equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain the inventory of food and supplies.
  • Order food / supplies for weekly meals in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Works closely with all staff to ensure special diets (allergies, religious) are being addressed.
  • Maintain proper safety standards throughout all food preparation and storage.
  • Other duties as assigned from Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Must have Saskatchewan Safe Food Handling Certificate.
  • Must have WHIMIS certificate
  • Grade 12 diploma (preferred).
  • Driver’s License (preferred).
  • Experience in preparing food and snacks.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check.
