  • Up to $45 per hour
  • Contract : September 9th to 20th
  • Travel Allowance and Accommodations provided

Raise Workforce has partnered with the leader in Material Handling equipment. They are conducting a shutdown at a Steel Plant. This work will primarily doing maintenance on a conveyor system. Based on job performance and attitude, opportunity to regularly called back for future shutdowns across Ontario and Canada.

This would be a great opportunity for someone that is looking to pick up additional work on days off, gain new experience, and would have the possibility of leading to full-time work.

Compensation :

  • Journeyperson : $45 per hour
  • 4th Year Apprentice : $40.50 per hour
  • 3rd Year Apprentice : $36 per hour
  • 2nd Year Apprentice : $31.50 per hour
  • Overtime paid after 8-hrs Daily. Double Time after 12-hrs Daily
  • Traveling from over 110 km : Meals LOA provided and Mileage compensated. Accommodations provided.
  • Travelling from over 650 km : Flights can be expensed up to $1225 return. Meals LOA and Accommodations provided.
  • Scope of Work :   Working on various equipment with regards to material handling. Can consist of repairs or replacements for : gear boxes, pulleys, sheaves, counter weight sheaves & cables, coupling, motors, impact beds, shaker decks, shaker screens, vibro pans, air cannons, various types of bearing replacements, hydraulics pumps, cylinders & valves, wear liners including but not limited to ball mills, rod mills, chutes

  • Certification of Qualification preferred or equivalent experience
  • Registered Apprentice with all or some blocks completed; open to all levels with relevant experience
  • WHMIS 2015 and Workers Awareness in 4 Steps required
  • Valid Working At Heights, Elevated Work Platform, Confined Space Entry, or First Aid & CPR considered an asset
  • Able to read drawings and schematics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and work in a team environment is crucial along with a strong commitment to personal and team safety
  • Lead by example in promoting a respectful and professional work environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and respirator fit test ready (clean shaven) for when working on customers' sites (depending on site requirements)
  • Full G Driver's License
  • A condition of employment is to willingly participate in pre-employment background checks which could include Criminal Record Check and Drug & Alcohol screening.
